ARE YOU STARTING TO LOSE YOUR HAIR? Are you just plain sick and tired of cleaning long strands of your own hair out of the shower drain? Worried?
Then today’s blog post is for you.
We are going to talk about Women’s hair loss treatments made specifically for women to review which ones work and what to avoid. The most common causes of hair loss in women are hormonally related. Whether it be an overactive thyroid, or the after effects of menopause or pregnancy.
What not to look for!
On this point, my main advice is DON’T GET SCAMMED! If you’re dead set on buying some kind of hair loss treatment, then Take 2 minutes and read this article — we will enlighten you and save you from wasting your money.
There are many web sites that are selling hair loss products like shampoos, and they’ll likely push the product that makes them the most money - or they’ll rate it #1 because of that reason — when behind the scenes, it’s only #1 in terms of making money for them.
Do you really want to trust them?
Read this review and order whatever you want directly from the manufacturer. I have included links to the manufacturers websites.
The Recent Buzz on Female Hair Loss Treatments
You’re here because you’re looking for Hair Loss Treatments that work, right? You don’t want to waste your money, do you? Good… so read on.
Many of my readers have their hair thin over the years or have gone suddenly bald (they call this Andro Genetic Alopecia) and have asked me what I recommend to prevent further hair loss or even regrow hair that they lost already … and FAST. Nobody wants to go bald and ugly and lose hair that they had all their life. (It’s ok for men but NOT Women!)
So what should a person do?
The big buzz as of late in the hair loss circles have been treatments that help suppress dihydrotestesterone, DHT. DHT or Testosterone if you don’t know is a male hormone which is present in small quantities in females. Balding in females occur when the DHT that binds to the hair follicles makes them dysfunctional and causes hair to fall out..
It’s very different from older hair loss treatments that only try and clean the scalp. The new hair loss treatments go beyond that. Dermatologist say the key to regrowing hair is supporting and repairing the hair follicles that you have and blocking the DHT.
DHT usually gets worse with menopause …because as estrogen levels decline ….testosterone levels will rise causing increase DHT in Women. Its estrogen that keeps DHT in check.
So it’s important to block the DHT to keep the hair that you have already from falling out and help your hair that has weakened to grow back stronger and darker.
Technically when you are balding your hair doesn’t fall out all at once it continually regrows weaker and weaker as DHT cause the hair and hair follicle to shrink and whither, but I’m not going to go into a lot of detail here about what women’s hair loss or (Andro Alopecia Areata) is and its basis in Science - you can research that on your own if you want.
You are here looking for hair loss solutions so what I am going to do is show you results from many months of testing hair loss treatments, on real people… clients, friends and people I know, and let you decide if these treatments are for you.
Why did I do the study?
As you probably already know, I work in a hair and skin salon, so I do a lot of hair treatments, straightening and other hair procedures on my clients. I have the pleasure of meeting all kinds of great people in the salon - those with fabulously great hair, and those that need a lot of help.
Many of my friends and people that I know asked me about what works with hair loss, and many were going to try various treatments regardless of what I told them, so I asked if I could document their results.
I actually had over 10 people on some kind of hair loss treatment last year. Some of the products they used ranged from traditional women’s hair loss shampoos to organic home remedies but I’m only going to cover a few of them here right now that we saw great results with.
The result you are about to see is what I consider pretty inspiring. She followed every word I said and achieved spectacular results. She also given me permission to post her photos and story:
Miko’s Story
Miko was one our best test cases in the prevention of hair loss and the inspiration behind today’s post.
Miko was going through menopause and was really worried about losing her hair because her mom had lost almost all of her hair around the same age. Miko was a client of mine and I have done many hair and skin care treatments on her, so having great hair was very important for her.
When Miko first came to me she was literally sobbing because her sister told her that hair loss is hereditary and there was very little they could do to stop her hair from falling out.
I usually have a belief there is always a way to make anything happen so when people tell me “You Can’t” do something that usually gets my blood boiling.
Anyways back to Miko… We did some research on different hair loss prevention and hair regrowth treatments and we decided to use Wallgreen’s Womens Rogain to try and keep the hair loss at bay and plus we heard some good things about it.
In the beginning we saw some initial good results. However Miko started noticing some dramatic hair loss (see photo A & B) forming on the top of her head and the front so we decided to switch to Plan B.

We started using the Provillus line of Hair Care products and specifically the Provillus women’s hair losstreatment. After a few weeks Miko noticed her hair falling out less and after a couple of months noticed new hair growing back.
What we liked about this treatment was that Provillus treated the hair loss in 2 ways…. externally at the roots with a topical solution that contains a FDA approved regrowth stimulant that you apply to the hair follicles andinternally with capsule supplements that you body needs to maintain healthy hair grow.
Around the 8th month of Miko’s treatment the results were pretty dramatic as you can see from the Picture C & D.

Miko’s hair restoration was really encouraging. Keep in mind some of the downsides with Provillus, at least what we found, was that Provillus might not work for everyone. Also the price is bit higher compared to other “hair loss solutions” on the market.
To see results it will take around 4-6 months so if you break the price down for the 6 month package it’s around $1.11 a day ….so instead of getting a latte from Starbucks you could just get a regular cup of coffee and the treatment would pay for itself (Or skip coffee and drink green tea so you can get better skin and hair regrowth at the same time!)
The other downside with Provillus is that it is sold exclusively online on only a few websites so you will have to wait a few days before you can start the treatment.
THE FINAL RESULTS:
I ran tests on 10 different people, all with varying degrees of success. Of the four Hair Loss products we tested, the results were pretty unanimous:
1st Place: Provillus Female Hair Loss- www.Provillus.com
2nd Place: Hair Genesis - www.Hairgenesis.net
3rd Place: Women’s Rogaine Topical Solution Only - www.DrugStore.com
